On 19 March 2026<\/strong>, representatives from North Macedonia, Albania, Greece, the European Commission\/DG Regio, UNDP and PONT, together with Interreg MA in Thessaloniki and EUSAIR Pillar Coordinators, gathered to reaffirm their commitment to the Prespa<\/strong>-Ohrid and Doirani lakes region<\/strong>\u00a0and to accelerate joint actions under the EUSAIR Strategy.<\/p>\n

The meeting highlighted:
\n\ud83d\udd39 strong political commitment of the three countries,
\n\ud83d\udd39 presentations of key achievements supported by the EU and regional partners,
\n\ud83d\udd39 contributions from\u00a0Pillar 3 (Environment & Biodiversity)<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Pillar 4 (Sustainable Tourism).<\/strong>
\n\ud83d\udd39 the crucial role of EGTCs<\/strong> in local development,
\n\ud83d\udd39 and the next steps towards developing a\u00a0cross border CLLD strategy<\/strong>\u00a0with concrete early win actions.<\/p>\n

This cross pillar workshop is an excellent example of how EUSAIR cooperation strengthens sustainable development, biodiversity protection and green tourism in one of the region\u2019s most valuable natural areas.<\/strong><\/p>\n
